On Monday morning, just before noon, a cyclist and a motorist collided at the intersection of Asserstraat with Zeijerstroeten in Ubbena. The driver continued to drive after the incident, but was later arrested, according to police.
The accident happened when the cyclist and motorist crossed at the bicycle path. The cyclist, who has right of way on the spot, crashed into the asphalt as a result of the collision. Ambulance personnel checked the victim for injuries, after which a hospital visit was also necessary.
The intersection, which was partially closed at the time of the accident, is known as a dangerous intersection where accidents occurred more often in the past.
