The regulatory reference framework for the next 6 years has been defined: the agreement between the manufacturers (Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, KTM and Yamaha) and the Series is based on a collective negotiation process focused on the best interests in the sporting, technical and commercial fields
We’re finally there, the agreement is there: the five manufacturers and the MotoGP Group have found a solution. And therefore, after this Czech Republic GP, the round of market announcements will begin. Also because tests are scheduled for Monday here in Brno with the new 850s with Pirelli tires from 2027 and the manufacturers will not allow outgoing riders to test their future bikes. So Pulcinella’s secrets will be revealed on the track. But we’ll see about that. For now, we need to record this important agreement between MotoGP Group, Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, KTM and Yamaha to define the reference framework for the discipline from 2027 to 2031. The “Concord Agreement” has been defined as a reference to Formula 1. Where, however, the reference is not only to the mutual satisfaction achieved, but also to the place where it was reached and reiterated over the years, i.e. in the FIA headquarters which is precisely the Place de la Concorde, in Paris. But they are details. This MotoGP World Championship is a historic milestone: for the first time in the history of sport, a programmatic agreement has been reached that covers the next five years of racing. Underlying a unified vision for its next phase, confirming the long-term presence of all current manufacturers on the grid.

The agreement is based on a collective negotiation process focused on the best sporting, technical and commercial interests, which establishes a framework that guarantees competitiveness, technological relevance and development of the global appeal of the championship in the long term. The ownership is the same as Formula 1, Liberty Media, so the imagined process is the same. Also because F1’s management results in terms of global popularity are there for all to see. The Builders wanted to be involved, as well as beneficiaries of their slice of the pie. “The regulatory framework – reads the note released today in Brno – will be presented shortly and will define the regulatory, sporting and commercial bases for the next evolutionary phase of MotoGP, marking an important milestone and further strengthening the championship. MotoGP, manufacturers, teams and the International Federation are collaborating to identify opportunities to improve both the technical and sporting aspects of the championship, with also a strong focus on safety. This shared approach will guide the continuous evolution of MotoGP, while preserving the DNA that defines it as the pinnacle of sport motorcycling.”

“It is a crucial moment for MotoGP,” said Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of the MotoGP Group. “The commitment of all five manufacturers not only reinforces the strength of the current championship, but also underlines the shared ambition that drives its future. Together with our long-standing partnership with the FIM until 2060, this agreement gives us a solid foundation to continue to grow, consolidating decades of progress and accelerating towards a new phase for the sport.” On behalf of Aprilia but also of the MSMA, the manufacturers’ association of which he is president, Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia, said: “I am pleased and proud of the agreement reached between our association and the MotoGP Group. It is the first time in the history of this sport that all manufacturers have reached a unanimous position on an agreement with MotoGP. This means that we all share the same vision for the future of this sport. The MotoGP brand has enormous potential and only by working together can we exploit all the opportunities offered from the global market and grow together”.
