Vince Neil from Mötley Crüe suffered a stroke last year And had to learn to go completely again. In an interview with the “Las Vegas Review” journal, the front man said that his recovery was the reason for the shift in the Vegas Residency, which is now starting this Friday.

Recovery after months of therapy

“I had a stroke. My entire left side failed,” said Neil about the event that hit him in his sleep on Christmas Night 2024. “I had to learn to walk again, and that was hard. The doctors said they didn’t think I could ever return to the stage. I only said: ‘No, no, I will do it. Wait.'”

In March, Neil officially explained to postpone the shows with Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and guitarist John 5 for health reasons from March/April to September, at the time with reference to a vocal cord treatment. In truth, the reason was far more serious.

As he described the newspaper further, he completed physiotherapy in Nashville for months. Since the mobility was severely impaired, he had to fight back from the wheelchair step by step.

“I went from people who had to carry me into the bathroom because I couldn’t run alone, finally into a wheelchair,” said Neil. “Then I came to the walking car, then to the stick. Now I don’t need anything anymore. But it’s like a full -time job until you feel really good again.”

Almost completely back on the stage

While his voice remained unaffected, it took a long time for the coordination to return: “It takes time for your brain to tell your legs what they should do. You try to walk, but it doesn’t work properly,” he said. In the meantime he is “95 percent back where I was”.

Mötley Crüe’s postponed residence starts on Friday in the Dolby Live in the Park MGM in Las Vegas. Concerts are planned on the 13th, 17th, 19th, 24th, 26th and 27th of September as well as two other shows on October 1 and 3.. At the same time, the new best-of-album from the beginning appears, which includes four decades of band history.
