Mother and two men arrested in investigation into death of toddler (2) in Veendam

In the investigation into the death of a two-year-old boy in Veendam, the police made three new arrests on Thursday. The child was rushed from an apartment on Veenlustplein to the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) at the beginning of last year. Doctors there raised the alarm almost immediately, because the nature of the injuries possibly indicated abuse. The toddler died a few days later, on January 15, 2024.
