Moschino mother Aeffe increases half-year sales by almost 14 percent

The Italian fashion group Aeffe SpA increased its sales significantly in the first half of 2022. The parent company of the brands Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Moschino and Pollini said on Thursday that the proceeds had reached a level of 176.5 million euros and thus exceeded the corresponding level of the previous year by 13.9 percent. Adjusted for exchange rate changes, the growth rate was 13.2 percent.

In Italy, group sales rose by 21.5 percent to EUR 71.3 million, in the rest of Europe they increased by 15.9 percent (currency-adjusted +15.8 percent) to EUR 59.3 million. Sales in America developed even more dynamically. There they reached a level of 14.3 million euros, which meant an improvement of 39.5 percent (currency-adjusted +30.8 percent) compared to the same period of the previous year. Because the reorganization of sales there and the tightening of corona protection measures in the meantime affected business in China, sales in Asia and the rest of the world fell by 9.5 percent (currency-adjusted -9.6 percent) to 31.5 million euros.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were EUR 20.9 million, 4.0 percent above the comparable prior-year level. However, the net profit attributable to the shareholders shrank by 78.4 percent from 13.3 to 2.9 million euros, which was not least due to the fact that the group had benefited from a one-off tax credit last year.
