Attention train passengers: the NS timetable will be significantly expanded on Sunday. From December 15, more trains will run on Brabant tracks. The NS itself speaks of the ‘biggest change to the timetable in years’.
The number of trains will be increased, especially during rush hours, evenings and weekends. For example, an extra late Intercity will run between Breda and Eindhoven at the weekend (departure at 00:39), while the Sprinters Eindhoven-Deurne and Eindhoven-Weert will run twice an hour on Saturdays during the day. And a Sprinter will also run twice an hour between Eindhoven-Den Bosch and Eindhoven-Tilburg University on Saturday and Sunday during the day.
In addition, more trains will also run through our province during the week. The intercity between Eindhoven and Utrecht now runs every ten minutes during the day and becomes a 15-hour service from seven in the evening. Under the new timetable, it will continue to run until eleven o’clock in the evening, which is two hours later.
The Sprinter between Eindhoven and Den Bosch will run every half hour in the evenings all week. That is now every hour. On weekdays the first Sprinter from Roosendaal to Dordrecht leaves half an hour earlier, namely at 5:08 am.
More trains will run throughout the Netherlands from December 15, more than ever before. According to the NS, the new timetable will run ‘more trains than in the peak year of 2019’.
