Individual customization offers two types of premiums to employers. The first is a wage premium that compensates for the loss of return, the efforts and costs associated with the employment of the person with the work disability. For example, it is about the necessary flexibility, extra support or the insertion of extra rest breaks that are provided. Secondly, there is the guidance premium, to compensate for costs for the extra guidance of the employee by a qualified supervisor and coach in the workplace. Self -employed persons with a work disability can also request a support premium in the development of their independent business activities.
New wage premium simulator available online
Thanks to a new wage premium simulator, from today, employers and employees can easily check whether someone is eligible for a wage premium, which is recorded as a certain percentage of the reference: Simulator Individual Customization | Vlaanderen.be. In this way, Minister Crevits wants to further reduce the threshold to hire someone with a work disability. Employers can simulate in advance and calculate how large the wage premium to be received will be if a person with a work disability is effectively hired.
