More than 10% of the trading buildings are empty, but this city is doing remarkably well

In West Flanders, on average, just over ten percent of the trading buildings are vacant. In most cities and municipalities, vacancy has increased, but Gistel is a positive exception. The number of vacant buildings fell from 7.4 percent last year to 4.5 percent now. That makes Van Gistel one of the best scoring municipalities in the province.
