In West Flanders, on average, just over ten percent of the trading buildings are vacant. In most cities and municipalities, vacancy has increased, but Gistel is a positive exception. The number of vacant buildings fell from 7.4 percent last year to 4.5 percent now. That makes Van Gistel one of the best scoring municipalities in the province.
