Agricultural deputy Gert-Jan Schuinder (BBB) says he is proud of the Drenthe lily growers. At the same time, he says he is struggling with enforcement requests that arrive at the province, including Measuring action group = knowing. He wants to curb the use of pesticides. “Nobody is happy with these enforcement requests,” says Schuinder. “I prefer to put that time in many other initiatives. You should see what all those requests cost.” Schuinder argues for the front and opponent to talk to each other. “Then there will be a decrease in the number of enforcement requests.”

Measuring = knowing in enforcement requests, among other things, on the precautionary principle. That means: if you are not sure whether something is harmful to health, do not use it. Schuinder: “I understand that you are making an appeal to that, but this principle is used selectively. I find it difficult that it only focuses on lily growing, because do you apply the precautionary principle to someone who uses glyphosate in his own garden?”

The province wants to support the Drentse Lelie with a one -off contribution of 750,000 euros to HLB. The Laboratory from Wijster will monitor the results. The Provincial Executive still has to agree with the subsidy.
