During her visit, Minister Crevits emphasized the importance of the link between language and work: “It is important for both the foreign -language and society that Dutch is not only learned in the classroom, but also in the workplace. From Flanders we stimulate this way of working. These students learn Dutch in practice and get the opportunity to fill in bottlenecks professions through their education. That is good for both the student and the employers who are looking for such profiles. The combination of education, knowledge of language and work as shown here in Kortrijk is a way of working that we encourage from Flanders. As a Flemish minister of integration, integration and living together, I encourage initiatives such as this. I therefore call on every employer to follow this example where possible. It is important that we take the employers in the bath and it is positive that more and more foreigners in West Flanders are learning Dutch in this way. ”
