Resident Gerard Steentjes walks the day after the fire over the debris of his old shack. “Well, everything is gone now. My books, my tools and all my Christmas items.”

Only some charred books about Beatrix and Wilhelmina can be found in the mess. He keeps them up. “I still recognize that,” he laughs. “But they are completely wet.”

Stones was not at home tonight, and no injuries were fallen. De Keet would be demolished soon, so the relief mainly dominates that the fire was not skipped to the old farmhouse.
