The dominant reality mother Monique Hansler and her submissive son Mike Hansler will debut tonight with their own reality series on SBS 6, while they became famous on RTL 4. “Just too late!”
According to many, it is a very nasty couple: Monique and Mike Hansler. He had a relationship with Denise van der Laan, but that naive girl appears to have mainly been used for an exciting storyline in their new reality series. Monique treated that girl really badly and Mike was stammering. He is still afraid of spanking from mom.
‘RTL too late’
Why is the Hanslertjes’ new reality series actually on SBS 6? They became known through the RTL 4 hit Winter Vol Liefde and now they are exploiting their fame with a soap opera with their competitor. And quite prominently too, because they will debut tonight in the popular time slot that Chateau Meiland leaves behind.
According to Monique, RTL 4 boss Peter van der Vorst was simply not proactive enough. “Well, RTL4 was too late. They had asked us for the program There they go again, but by then the series with SBS6 had already been completed,” she says in conversation with The Telegraph.
Immediately enthusiastic
Mike says that SBS did a good job of inspiring them. “We were immediately enthusiastic about that.”
Mom Monique corrects him: “Well, not immediately, you know. We had to think for a while whether we wanted this. Look, with Winter full of love, which I actually wasn’t involved in at all… whoa, stop. I mean: I wasn’t supposed to have a role in that. I had given up Mike, but suddenly I was also put in front of the camera.”
‘Did I still want to?’
Monique claims that she sincerely doubted a soap opera. As if anyone doubts how attention-hungry she is. “The period surrounding the program was very hectic with everything I had to deal with. So I wondered whether we should still want this,” she says with dry eyes.
In the SBS 6 soap we see the family opening a beach bar. An idea from themselves or from the channel? “It was really a dream of ours to start something. And then this suddenly happened.”
