PSV played 2-2 in the top match against Ajax on Sunday. In a sloppy match, Ismael Saibari and Yarek Gasiorowski made the goals on behalf of the Eindhoven players, but Ajax managed to reach the same level just before the end.
Before the competition there was a spectacular atmosphere campaign behind the goal. Because of the smoke development, the players, who were already on the field, had to go back inside and the kick -off was postponed for a few minutes.
PSV started the match dominant and that soon resulted in a first goal. After a measured pass from Ivan Perisic, it was Ismael Saibari who was able to head freely at the second post and put the 1-0 on the scoreboard.
PSV went through the strong start, but suddenly Ajax, who got a penalty through the VAR in the 29th minute after a violation by Sergiño Dest in the sixteen. Kenneth Taylor sent PSV-Keeper Matej Kovár into the wrong corner and thus the score again.
Serious injury
Shortly after the 1-1, PSV almost took the lead again. However, Ruben van Bommel’s header was removed from De Lijn. The same Van Bommel was forced to be replaced shortly thereafter with a heavy knee injury at first glance. The left winger was taken over from AZ for about 15 million euros this summer.
Little could be seen of the dominant game at the start of the second half. PSV started the second part very weak and sloppy. Ajax became stronger and Matej Kovár had to take action a number of times to prevent a backlog. Nevertheless, the people of Eindhoven also had a number of big opportunities in the second half. First it was Ricardo Pepi who almost scored with a header. Then Ismael Saibari who left two mega chances unused.
PSV coach Peter Bosz brought Guus Til and Mauro Júnior to the team, which ensured that the people of Eindhoven got better in their game. Eventually there was the liberating 2-1 in the 81st minute. Mauro Júnior put a pass on the head of defender Yarek Gasiorowski, who nodded flawlessly. The relief was also clearly heard in the stands.
For a moment it seemed that PSV would keep the three points in Eindhoven, but in the 88th it was Ajax that came to the same level. Oscar Gloukh was put away right through the defense of PSV and put the final score of 2-2 on the board.
Thanks to this draw, PSV is now on thirteen points from six games.
