It should be his home game, his evening in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in front of 15,000 frenetic martial arts fans. But it has been clear since Thursday: Christian Jungwirth, German MMA figure, must fit on March 8 at the Oktagon 68 in Stuttgart. In an emotional statement, the 38-year-old turned to his followers and announced the bitter message.
“Unfortunately, I have bad news for you-for me the most: I unfortunately had to cancel the fight for health reasons and postpone an indefinite period,” said Jungwirth in a video clip, which he himself posted on social media and official Instagram channel from Oktagon Germany.
“I have now had the second virus infection and have been lying flat again for a week and a half. Three weeks ago it also started with the back, I made an MRI last week. It was found that I had an intervertebral disc (herniated disc, editor’s note). The whole thing made the training more difficult. Therefore we had to pull the emergency brake and shift in the case! Heart muscle inflammation or something I don’t feel like it! “Said the MMA star, who should have hit the Czech MMA fighter Marek Bartl on March 8.
The visibly disappointed Christian Jungwirth added: “I already fought with a broken nose and broken rib, that’s all ok. But with such a delayed flu, the risk is simply there that you get heart problems. That’s why I decided.”
