MKE Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca: There is prejudice about Emre Belözoğlu

MKE Ankaragücü, one of the Super League teams, continued its preparations for the match it will play against Samsunspor at Eryaman Stadium on Sunday, October 29, with training at MKE Ankaragücü Beştepe Facilities. MKE Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca made statements regarding match preparations and football agenda. Stating that the teams of the symbol cities of the Republic will meet on Sunday, October 29, Republic Day, Koca said, “We need to gain momentum and series with a new coach. Unfortunately, we unfortunately lost in Istanbul, it was a defeat we never expected. We think we have a good squad. This is “We need to be in a better place with the squad. I think we will make a good start again with the Samsunspor match,” he said.

“THERE IS PREJUDICE ABOUT EMRE HOCA”

Regarding coach Emre Belözoğlu’s receiving 2 yellow cards in the first 2 weeks at the helm of the team, Koca said, “Unfortunately, coach Emre has received 1 yellow card in 2 matches. I have never talked about the referees this season, this is my first time. Ultimately, this is a game with high adrenaline. Unfortunately, there is a prejudice in the sports public and especially among the referees about Emre Hodja. Emre Hodja is an active person and he makes the moves by giving instructions to his own players. The referees do not tolerate it because his adrenaline is high. Due to the nature of the job, the atmosphere gets a little tense there. Here, the referees are the ones who will tolerate it. “It is not right to form such an opinion based on prejudice and about coach Emre. He may exceed the limits with his mobility in the atmosphere, but I ask the coaches and the referees to be a little tolerant regarding the players. I do not find the behavior of the referees right, but if they make decisions taking the atmosphere into consideration, the problem with the motivation of the coach will be eliminated. I think so. In this sense, we expect a little more understanding from the referees. I think they should tolerate it as long as there is no insult involved in giving a yellow card or red card penalty. In my opinion, there is a prejudice about Emre Hodja. We encounter fewer referee errors compared to last year. I congratulate the Central Referee Board. “In this sense, just as we compliment them when they manage well, we expect them to tolerate our coach and players when necessary,” he said.

“ANATOLIAN CLUBS WILL EXPERIENCE A SERIOUS FINANCIAL CRISIS IN BREAKING TIME”

Stating that they had difficulty in the financial aspect of the club management and that a significant part of his day was spent looking for money, Koca said:

“The club needs 50 million liras every month. A standard was set 5-6 years ago when broadcast revenues were 500 million dollars. That system still works as if 500 million dollars were coming in. Currently, 100 million dollars is coming in. This even includes a lower league. This Clubs do not have the chance to progress like this. All Anatolian clubs will experience a serious financial crisis during the half-time. We are also having a hard time. Thank God, our management is strong in this sense. Thanks to our sponsors, we are having a very hard time. Normally, my goal was for Ankaragücü to start the league without debt. But unfortunately, we could not do this because the income we expected did not come. We are not so bad, but it is a fact that we have difficulties. Our expenses in every match we play are 1.5 million liras. If we win, we get 2.7 million liras. There is also a premium for this. The money coming from broadcasting revenues is not beneficial for the clubs. This must be solved and “It should become a state policy. A mass of 30 million people are managed in football. Successful countries in Europe solved it with the intervention of the state. We have no chance of living any other way.”

“WE HAVE TO PAY 2-3 TIMES THE NORMAL”

Emphasizing that there are serious problems due to the competition between the 3 big clubs, Koca said, “Especially Anatolian clubs are having problems. Sometimes they transfer players for 3-4 times our budget. They do not let some of them play. Anatolian clubs also want to rent these players who do not play. What we rent from them is 2-3 times more than normal.” We have to pay a lot of money. There is a serious imbalance here. The structure of football clubs needs to be completely revised. The clubs and managers who should be the strongest in the football arena have become the weakest link. It is not possible for us to develop with these football policies. A player who does not contribute to the club will be given a lifetime ban. Is money given? A football player comes and gets all his money, whether he plays or not. When he doesn’t get it, he complains to FIFA. A football player asks us for 1 million euros with his manager. He has to ask for this in order to play at the top level. He gets it even if he doesn’t play. This is wrong. 1/3 of his salary. It guarantees , but the others must be included in the articles in the contract. The man does not play but gets paid. I say this in general. “Unless we fix this, football has no chance of development,” he said.
