The Russian authorities are preparing a new package of responses to Western sanctions, informed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with representatives of the Communist Party faction ahead of the government’s report to the State Duma.

As Mishustin noted, against the backdrop of “such intense pressure from outside,” the government “is extremely important to coordinate work” with the deputies.

“We are implementing the measures laid down in the plan of priority actions. You know that another package of counter-sanctions is being prepared now. We expect that your faction will also approach its discussion constructively, in detail, as it was before,” he said.

Lavrov said that the West did not stop imposing sanctions against Russia

Since the end of February, Western countries, in particular the European Union, Great Britain and the United States, have introduced several packages of sanctions against Russia. The restrictions affected both the top leadership of the country, a number of businessmen and heads of companies, as well as the financial, defense and industrial sectors. The US has imposed an embargo on Russian oil and gas and tightened restrictions on the export of microelectronics. The European Union, in turn, banned the supply of aircraft and spare parts for them. In addition, Washington and Brussels froze the assets of the Central Bank.
