Russia has created a task force that will interact with the regions against the backdrop of the spread of coronavirus, informed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the coordinating council to combat the spread of COVID-19.

“We organized a special operational working group, which will be supervised by [вице-премьер] Tatyana Golikova. The group will be constantly, around the clock, in touch with the subjects of Russia and all interested bodies and organizations,” Mishustin said.

Mishustin asked Golikova to develop a draft regulation, according to which the task force would operate. He also asked to “form the data that will be needed, taking into account the information resources already available.”

The Prime Minister also expressed concern about the lack of testing for coronavirus in the country and the increase in the number of hospitalizations. He attributed the increase in the number of infections to the omicron strain of coronavirus.
