Communication from the king’s cabinet:
His Majesty de Koning was informed by Prime Minister HWM Schoof on Friday evening, August 22, 2025, about the Council of Ministers of 22 August, the result of which the ministers and state secretaries of NSC-Huize request the King to give them immediate dismissal.
On the recommendation of the Prime Minister, the King granted dismissal to the ministers and state secretaries of NSC-Huize from 22 August 2025 in the most honorable manner:
- YJ van Hijum as vice-minister president and Minister of Social Affairs and Employment;
- CCJ Veldkamp as Foreign Minister;
- JJM Uitermark as Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations;
- EEW Bruins as Minister of Education, Culture and Science;
- DEMC Jansen as Minister of Health Welfare and Sport;
As well as:
- CJ Boerma as State Secretary for Foreign Affairs;
- Thd Struycken as State Secretary for Justice and Security;
- T. van Oostenbruggen as State Secretary for Finance;
- S.Th.PH Palmen as State Secretary for Finance.
With effect from 22 August 2025, for the period that in the appointment of a minister of the Distinguished Ministries of Social Affairs and Employment, Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations, Education, Culture and Science and Public Health, Welfare and Sport after the aforementioned dismissal is not yet foreseen, the temporary management of:
- The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment are conducted by MCG Keijzer;
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs are conducted by RP Brekelmans;
- The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations are conducted by DM van Weel;
- The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science are conducted by S.Th.M. Hermans;
- The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport are conducted by R. Tieman.
