Minister Vandenbroucke visits AZ Groeninge
In recognition of the unbridled efforts and commitment of the hospital employees – both from care and from non-care – Minister Vandenbroucke paid a visit to AZ Groeninge on Friday. He visited the Intensive Care and Emergency Admission departments and listened to the experiences of doctors, employees and volunteers. Non-healthcare employees also had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the minister. (Read more below the photo)
Special day
Minister Vandenbroucke expressed his thanks: ‘Today is a day to pause for a moment. For two years, corona put enormous pressure on our healthcare system – literally to save lives – but also on everyone who works in healthcare. It has been two unreal years that have demanded the utmost from healthcare staff. In the past period I have seen people really rise above themselves. We must learn from this for the future organization of our health care. But today I especially want to take my hat off to the extraordinary efforts of the healthcare staff over the past two years.”
Looking forward to the future
Although COVID-19 is far from being eradicated, the hospital is positive about the future. They are delighted that all nursing wards are open again, the regular operations can be performed again, the services have their familiar staff again.
