Minister of Ministers approves the purchase of new equipment for army: “Special Forces must be able to defend itself against air strikes”

The Council of Ministers has approved various purchase files for the Belgian army. The largest project refers to Polish air defense systems for the Special Forces, all together good for 137.8 million euros. “Our special forces must be able to act autonomously. With this European purchase we give them the necessary protection to defend themselves against air strikes,” says Defense Minister Theo Francken (N-VA).
