Minister interested in ‘self-driving’ cars on Flemish roads: our tech journalist tests one in the busy city center of Amsterdam

Will there soon be cars in our country that can drive themselves? Flemish Minister of Mobility Annick De Ridder (N-VA) wants clarity on this by the end of the week. It has recently become more or less possible in the Netherlands: Tesla was given the green light for ‘Full Self-Driving’, a system that drives itself under your supervision. Our tech journalist Kenneth Dée went to Amsterdam, let go of the wheel and held his breath: “I consciously take the busiest streets full of cyclists and pedestrians.”
