According to new figures, the Flemish budget is heading for a deficit of 450 million euros next year. That is what Flemish Minister of Finance and Budget Matthias Diependaele (N-VA) said on Wednesday in the VRT radio program ‘The morning’. When preparing the budget in March, the Jambon government still assumed a deficit of 600 million euros. Yet that smaller budget deficit is no reason for Diependaele to let the reins go.
