The execution of the works themselves is the responsibility of the Vlaamse Waterweg, under the supervision of Minister of Public Works Lydia Peeters. The deepening of the Leie in Menen is planned for 2027.
For this project, the existing Center Bridge on Rijselstraat and the quay walls will be demolished. In its place will be a new, higher and wider Center Bridge and completely new quay walls will be constructed.
