The top floor of the town hall is the last stop. There is the boiler room with two boilers. One was ‘passed away’ last year. And so the municipality has bought another. “We leave the old one for a while and use it for parts, if the reserve still show some cures.”
There is a deeper problem behind it and that is insulation. When the town hall was built 25 years ago, aluminum frames was chosen. “That was very hip at the time and maintenance -free. Only in terms of insulation value is there a few things wrong,” explains Schans. “The result is that if someone on one side of the building sets the heating a little higher, they will bounce away on the other.”
In the renovation, the municipality sees the opportunity to turn the town hall ‘a house of the municipality’. That means that in the building with different organizations, such as the library and welfare people work, she wants to go together. “The renovation can be cheaper if we don’t,” says Schans. But according to him, a house of the municipality is cheaper in the long term. Then the municipality does not have to pay the housing costs of the library and welfare people work separately.
“The intentions are pronounced that they see that,” says Schans. In addition, he emphasizes that a lot must be investigated in the coming period. “We will automatically calculate whether it is possible. All signals are still green for this so far.”
At the end of the ‘tour’ the alderman enters his car. An old model, also a bit at the end of his Latin. “If I come to stand with my car, which is written off, then that service will stop.
