Loud applause can be heard in Spijkerboor when the canvas goes off the steel statue of the old flour mill De Reus. “This really does something to me,” says Jacob Glas emotionally, he is the son of the last miller of the mill and may reveal the image.
His family lived here for almost 70 years. “My grandfather has always had the flour mill and we came to live here in 1953.” The mill was demolished just after the war, the last part by glass itself. “The mill was really finished.”
