Residents of Drenthe looked up this afternoon surprised. Low -flying military transport aircraft traveled through the airspace. The planes are part of ‘Falcon Leap’, a large international airborne operation in which parachutists and cargo are dropped over the Netherlands.
The devices were clearly visible above the Holtingerveld, although they left no trace on popular apps such as Flighttradar24. Parachutists and equipment are dropped during the exercise.
Falcon Leap runs from 8 to 20 September and is an annual exercise. A total of twelve countries participate in the exercise, including France, Germany and the United States.
