Within the framework of the criminal complaint against two TN journalists for filming the hallways of the Pink Housethe president Javier Milei escalated his offensive against the press and reposted an image generated with artificial intelligence that shows the journalist Luciana Geuna handcuffed, dressed in the orange suit typical of prisoners in the American prison system and with the legend “spy and operator” printed on the garment. The image was originally created and published by the user “Gian Ferreyra”, known on social networks as “Gian del 56%”, who accompanied it with the comment “It is coming”.
The episode was the culmination of a flood of messages that the head of state published in the last 48 hours against Geuna and his colleague Ignacio Salernoalso from TN, to whom Military House filed a criminal complaint for having filmed the interiors and hallways of the Government House. The recording was broadcast on the program “And what tomorrow?”which Geuna leads, and was supposedly made with smart glasseswithout authorization from the security authorities.
In one of her messages, Milei used capital letters to call them “DIGUSTING GARBAGE” and added: “I would love to see those filthy trash who carry journalist credentials (95%) come out to defend what these two criminals did. I hope this reaches those responsible.” Before, he had published another tweet started with his classic acronym NOL$ALP (“We Don’t Hate Journalists Enough”) in which he warned that “being corrupt, secretive, and violating security laws is not free.”
The complaint and closure of Casa Rosada
The judicial document presented by Casa Militar invokes possible violations of the articles 222 and 223 of the Penal Codewhich contemplate penalties of one to six years in prison for obtaining or revealing political or military secrets. The document maintains that the filming “exposed officials to unjustified risks and could have created conditions for revealing state secrets linked to the President’s routine and the functioning of the Executive Branch.”
The complaint also led to an unprecedented measure in Argentine democratic history: the government prohibited the entry of all accredited journalists to the Casa Rosada. The order, communicated without official announcement, came from the head of the Military House, Sebastian Ibanezand reaches some 60 press workers from different media. According to official sources, the suspension of accreditations will remain “until the issue of the videos is clarified.” Chroniclers who arrived at Balcarce 50 met with personnel from the Federal Police and from Casa Militar carrying a list with their names that prevented them from entering.
Political leaders of the opposition and press freedom organizations indicated that not even during the last civil-military dictatorship A similar measure was taken against journalists accredited at the headquarters of the Executive.
The context: war with Clarín
The offensive against Geuna and Salerno is part of the open conflict that Milei maintains with the Clarín Groupowner of TN. The confrontation escalated in early 2025 when the national government tried to stop the purchase of Telecom on the part of Telephonea company in the hands of the media group, by arguing an abuse of a dominant position in the telecommunications market. Since then, Milei has posted a lengthy message on her X account as a tweet under the title “CLARÍN: THE GREAT ARGENTINE SCAM”.
