Party postponed, but perhaps only for a few days. Napoli’s victory makes it arithmetically impossible to celebrate Inter’s 21st scudetto this weekend. With the clear victory against Cremonese, Conte’s team has in fact moved to -9 behind the Nerazzurri, on stage this Sunday at the Olimpico Grande Torino. And Milan could do the same, if they beat Juventus in the postponement at San Siro. However, there is the possibility that Inter will celebrate the tricolor next weekend and without even taking the field. Let’s see how.

Even if they win on Sunday in Turin, there will be no celebration for the Nerazzurri who, at most, could re-establish the distance by returning themselves to +12 on the Azzurri (and, possibly, on Milan). Next week, however, Inter will take to the field last: first it will be the turn of Napoli (Saturday 2 May at 6pm in Como) and Milan (Sunday 3rd at 3pm at Sassuolo). In the event that the two chasing teams lose, they will be able to toast in the Nerazzurri changing room before taking to the pitch at San Siro against Parma (8.45pm). This is because – with only three games left and a gap of 10 points (in case of Inter’s draw with Torino) or 12 (in case of Inter’s victory against the Granata) – Napoli and Milan could no longer even dream of a tie. And at that point the Nerazzurri Milan could celebrate. Without even getting his shorts dirty. Obviously, in the event of a victory against Torino, at that point Inter would be satisfied if Napoli and Milan did not win in the next round of the championship. Party postponed, therefore.
