President Javier Milei, announced as stellar guest of the Viva 25 Vox Live Retrieving Festival in Madrid, ended up participating only by videoconference. The image was clear: Milei in front of the camera, without scenery or deployment, speaking monochorde for just five minutes. Nothing of the show that on other occasions made him international attraction.
In that brief message he showed a stamp again that is repeated in his speeches: the use of the Holy Scriptures as a political weapon to attack the left. Without developing specific policies or diagnoses, he reduced his intervention to a moral combat between good and evil, mixing Bible and politics in the same plane.
“As the Holy Scriptures say: they attack us, full of insolence and impiety, to exterminate ourselves, our women and our children, and to seize our spoils. We, on the other hand, fight for our life and for our customs. Heaven will crush them in front of us. They are not afraid of them, we are not afraid of them,” Milei read, in reference to communism.
The detail did not go unnoticed: the president repeated the same biblical passage he had already published in X to respond to Nicolás Maduro. The Venezuelan president had accused him, together with Elon Musk, of integrating “diabolical circles and satanic sects.” Milei then chose to take refuge in the Bible and now repeated that response in an international scenario.
The other axis of his speech was the murder of Charlie Kirk, whom he defined as “martyr of freedom.” The American conservative activist was killed in a university campus, in a context of growing political polarization. “Paradoxically, this attack was perpetrated and celebrated by them who accuse us of us, which all we do is vehemently express the veracity of our arguments,” he said, hardening his speech and adding tension to the ideological confrontation.
What was promised as star intervention ended up reduced to a brief message and loaded with religious drama. More than opening a political debate, he presented an president and more inclined to sustain his leadership in messianic key.
