The merger creates a new district within FrieslandCampina: Milcobel-West. This includes the Bruges Ommeland, the Westhoek and South and South-East West Flanders. The district will have its own district council, which will be the point of contact for dairy farmers in the region. Bram Maes, dairy farmer from Aalter, will become chairman of that district.
Little will change in the daily management of the dairy group. Jan Derck van Karnebeek remains CEO of FrieslandCampina. Former Milcobel CEO Peter Grugeon will take on a new role within the group. The head office remains in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
