Dal From 6 to 22 February 2026, Italy hosts the XXV Winter Olympic Games and from 6 to 15 March the XIV Paralympic Winter Games. The journey of the Flame touches all 110 Italian provinces. It starts on November 26th, with the lighting of the sacred fire in Olympia.
The stages of the Olympic flame in Italy
The December 6th the Journey officially starts from the Stadio dei Marmi in Rome. The Flame arrives on the evening of February 6 at San Siro for the opening ceremony of the Games. The Cortina stage is scheduled for January 26, 70 years after the start of the first Winter Games hosted by Italy.
The Flame is accompanied for 12 hours a day by a convoy of almost 200 meters, which stops in 60 stage cities for lighting the brazier. The path «intertwines roots and future, hospitality and innovation, celebrating the best of the Italian spirit. Every step through our cities will remind the world of the power of sport in building bridges and breaking down barriers”, explains Giovanni Malagò, president of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation.
