The French defender was offered to the Rossoneri, past deals with the English club help. Almost done for the arrival of the striker on loan from West Ham

Milan is looking to London for low-cost reinforcements in the January transfer window. Tomorrow could be the day to sort out the details that will allow Niclas Füllkrug to leave West Ham and wear the red and black shirt, but in the next few days the negotiations to hand over Axel Disasi to Allegri, reinforcement for the defence, could also take off.

With West Ham and Füllkrug the discussion is very advanced, almost closed. Yesterday the parties also had contact through an intermediary. The (perhaps) decisive meeting is expected tomorrow, the one that will precede the drafting of the contracts: the formula will be the loan with right of redemption because the player has extracted the club’s promise to leave. And West Ham, who would like the obligation to buy under certain conditions (title?), is inclined to give the green light. The German is not part of the project and a favor to an important club like Milan could be an intelligent operation from a future perspective. Füllkrug will be in Milan for medical visits shortly: it remains to be seen whether before or immediately after Christmas, but he will make his debut on January 8th against Genoa because there is no technical time to have him on the 2nd in Cagliari.

Axel Disasi’s name is starting to gain ground as a possible reinforcement for the back department. The Frenchman owned by Chelsea was proposed by his agent to the Rossoneri managers, who judged the operation to be feasible from a formula point of view. Now the reflections will be of a technical nature and will involve Allegri, called to give his approval to the arrival of the twenty-seven year old who has only made a couple of appearances for Chelsea this season in the Under 21 team. Disasi will leave London in the January transfer window because he no longer intends to remain on the sidelines of the project, to wait for a chance that Maresca never offered him. This is why his entourage is pressuring Chelsea managers to obtain the free loan, with a portion of his wages paid.

Milan doesn’t want to invest any more money in January after the money spent last summer. Also because the 2025-26 budget, compared to the 2024-25 one, will have neither the millions arriving from UEFA for participation in the Champions League nor those coming from the Lega Calcio Serie A for winning the Super Cup and for the Italian Cup final. The risk of not collecting the fourth profit in a row is already very high given this situation. Imagine if a significant investment was made to purchase a player’s card. In via Aldo Rossi they are aware that, in the race for fourth place, the comeback from Juventus and the competition from Roma, despite last night’s defeat, are very dangerous. The economic barriers, however, are difficult to get around. And as in the case of Fullkrug, who will arrive on loan with the right to buy (spending will be limited to 1.2 million net for the salary plus a limited amount for the loan), the defender’s arrival at Milanello will also have to have the same formula. The fact that Disasi is owned by Chesea makes the Rossoneri managers think that the operation is feasible in light of the good relations with the Blues. The footballer has been offered around Europe and is liked by Besiktas and Lyon. Last summer, however, Milan purchased Nkunku from Chelsea for 37 million plus bonuses. In the recent past, i.e. after the end of the Berlusconi era, he also concluded other operations with the Blues such as those linked to Tomori, Giroud, Bakayoko, Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek. Apart from Bakayoko, everyone has given or is giving an important contribution to the Rossoneri cause.

Before focusing on De Winter, in the hours in which Thiaw had communicated to Milan his desire not to renew his contract and to move to Newcastle, Disasi had been explored, but the choice ultimately fell on the Belgian who Allegri had already had at Juventus and who knew the Italian championship better. Disasi for his part wanted to return to Monaco, where he had played until 2023 before being purchased by Chelsea (contract until 2029) for 45 million euros. In London, apart from a decent 2023-24, he hasn’t had great luck and after last January’s loan to Aston Villa, he has his bags packed again.
