Milan break free against Turin

Italian football champions AC Milan have ended their earnings crisis and clinched an important victory. Milan won 1-0 (0-0) against FC Torino and ended a dry spell of five league games without a win. However, the comeback of veteran star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been postponed.

Ibrahimovic (41) had been out since June 2022 after cruciate ligament and meniscus surgery and was in the squad for the first time this season, but coach Stefano Pioli has yet to let the crowd favorite come on. Olivier Giroud (71st) scored the goal of the day for the hosts, U21 European champion Malik Thiaw played through at Milan.

The defending champion had slipped to sixth place due to the crisis in the league, and the Supercup was also lost 3-0 to city rivals Inter Milan. In the round of 16 of the cup, Milan lost out against Turin a month ago in extra time (0-1).
