Mikael Abram was inexplicably wrong

Mikael Abram’s mistake made competitors laugh.

Italian cross-country skier Mikael Abram made the mistake of his life while skiing the Tour de Ski 10 km time trial in Oberstdorf on Tuesday.

Abram managed to ski one lap too many on the 3.3 kilometer track. The track is normally lapped three times, but the Italian missed one extra lap for some reason.

– I thought the race was four rounds, not three. I don’t know why I thought that, Abram said with a puzzled Swedish newspaper For Expressen.

Jumbo skier’s final time was sad because of the mistake. He clocked 32 minutes, while the other skiers at the stern finished in 24 minutes.

Abram’s teammate Federico Pellegrino told that in the Italian camp they joked about palms mercilessly. Abram did not like it.

– Something like that happened to me when I was 8 or 10 years old. After that I learned my lesson, Pellegrino laughed.

– In Wednesday’s race, the coaches then shouted to us which round we were in. You can only imagine how Mikael felt.

Also Swedish William Poromaa heck to Abram’s confusion.

– I have heard that someone has sometimes turned onto the wrong road and had to turn back. But I’ve never heard of anyone pulling a whole extra loop. It’s a strong thing to do, Poromaa said.
