Mika Godts and Jong Ajax struggle past TOP Oss; Jong AZ beats ten Jong PSV

Young Ajax defeated TOP Oss 1-0. Mika Godts, who has been the star for the reserves on several occasions, scored the only goal of the match. The victory means Jong Ajax rises to seventeenth place. Jong AZ had a great evening against Jong PSV. The score was 1-2 in Eindhoven by Ro-Zangelo Daal and Mexx Meerdink.

Just like at Telstar, the Jong Ajax match started after a minute of silence for the deceased Ruud Geels at Sportpark De Toekomst. The first half had few highlights in Amsterdam against TOP Oss. One bright spot was the goal by Mika Godts, who has already excelled with the Amsterdam promises in recent weeks.

Oualid Agougil played in Jaydon Banel, he found Godts with a backheel and the Belgian shot behind Mike Havekotte: 1-0. Just before half time, the Ossen team came out dangerously through Thijs van Leeuwen, but his effort was saved by Charlie Setford.

In the second half, Banel made two dangerous attempts, but without success. Both times Havekotte stopped the Amsterdam lead from doubling. The young Ajax players all allowed Van Leeuwen to shoot over and Arthur Allemeersch to fire on Setford’s goal. However, it didn’t go any further, leaving the score 1-0.

Ajax therefore rises to seventeenth place in the first division. Helmond Sport will be the next opponent at Sportpark De Toekomst next Friday.

Jong AZ was therefore too strong for Jong PSV in Eindhoven with 2-1. Jevon Simons of the home team provided the first danger. His shot was barely missed by goalkeeper Hobie Verhulst (who often plays against Jong-teams). Mexx Meerdink asserted himself on the other side, but shot wide. Ro-Zangelo Daal tapped a rebound after a shot by Kees Smit against the ropes: 0-1.

The second half got off to a crazy start. Substitute Tim van den Heuvel received a red card after fourteen (!) seconds for a foul on Enoch Mastoras. Meerdink scored AZ’s second goal in the 63rd minute. Ricuencio Kewal sent the striker deep and he rounded the goalkeeper and scored: 0-2. Young PSV came back through Jesper Uneken, but the ten could no longer make a fist.
