Film director Miia Tervo hopes that by telling her story, she could bring joy and hope to others.

Film director and screenwriter Miia Tervo, 45, opened Saturday night The song of my life in the program is a tough childhood shaded by alcoholism.
The Jussi award-winning director opened his personal story when the song of his life was clear.
– This is related to my refreshment. I started drinking at the age of 13 and got a frenzy at the age of 26.
He said he would come from a family with “all kinds of socio -economic hassle, alcoholism and all kinds of adjustment.” This hassle he mentioned fled to alcohol and drinking himself.
– It went pretty fast so it was fun, then it wasn’t too much fun anymore. I could wake up from a different country that I thought I had gone out, Tervo says and listened to the story in the studio.
– I got to the University of Art and Design and there that moped went to the gorge. Then I got to the peer support and got a refreshment.
– I started practicing life because I hadn’t worn socks, for example.
He says he has even learned how to dress and eat, but also to get to know the feelings of joy and happiness in a new way.
– It was really difficult because the joy without liquor is pretending. How are you happy to be clear? Tervo describes.

– It was a really beautiful moment, the kind of moment of joy and pure happiness, where I first experienced pure happiness, Tervo is sensitized.

Now he says he has been sober for 19 years and had a wonderful family as a new life. Tervo said he was ashamed of his story and wondered if he could tell it.
– Maybe there are a couple more in Finland, maybe there is someone here whose relative or someone close to them with the same challenges. For example, we have a million children of alcoholics in this country, Tervo justifies his choice to open his story.
