Midwinterhoorn walk through the Reestdal

On Sunday, December 10, the sounds of the midwinter horn will sound through the Reestdal from the De Wheem visitor center. The Ekelbloazers from Zuidwolde and the midwinter horn blowers from Hardenberg blow at several locations and let you enjoy this age-old tradition during your winter walk.

Especially in winter when nature is in hibernation, it is wonderful to walk. The call of the midwinter horn blowers accompanies you during your walk through the Reestdal. A cozy winter atmosphere, good company and delicious food and drinks are the desired ingredients to make it a more than atmospheric afternoon. There are a number of stalls in the visitor center area and there is live music.

Start is at the Wheem, Oud Avereest 22 Balkbrug, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The long walk is about 10 kilometers and the short walk is about 6 kilometers. Dogs are allowed on the short walk, provided they are kept on a leash. Dogs are not allowed during the long walk.
