Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open Vld) has been speaking in parliament for at least 40 hours – spread over several days and sessions. The opposition member stretches his speaking time – with the help of some pizza and fresh waffles – to the limit in the Finance Committee with one goal: to stop the vote on a new method of combating fraud. The government parties are waiting in annoyance for him to give up out of fatigue, but this morning Van Quickenborne showed no sign of giving up.
