Mickey Rourke has been evicted from his Los Angeles home after falling behind nearly $60,000 in rent.
As ROLLING STONE reported in late December, the actor had fallen behind on payments on the three-story Spanish bungalow he rented in April 2025 – around the time he was asked to leave Britain’s “Celebrity Big Brother.” for “inappropriate language” and “unacceptable behavior.”
Court documents obtained by People show that the Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled in favor of landlord Eric Goldie in an Unlawful Detainer proceeding (a civil eviction proceeding under California law). As the Los Angeles Times noted, the house was built in the 1920s and was previously occupied by novelist Raymond Chandler.
Judgment by default
Similar to the original eviction filing in December 2025 – in which ROLLING STONE confirmed that Rourke was not at the property when someone tried to reach him there – the judgment was filed on March 9 and entered by default. According to People, this is likely because Rourke did not respond to the lawsuit or appear in his defense within the time required by California law.
Amid his legal troubles, a GoFundMe was set up for Rourke in early January, but he quickly claimed he had nothing to do with it. “If I needed money, I wouldn’t beg for fucking handouts,” he said. “I’d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.” His manager, Kimberly Hines, who has worked for him for more than a decade, then admitted to setting up the account: “If Mickey doesn’t want this help from people who want to support him and his fans, the money will be refunded,” she said.
In mid-January, after handing over his shotgun to authorities, Rourke again spoke out about the GoFundMe campaign, which had now raised $90,000, and urged people to demand their money back. “Vicious cruel godamm lie to hustle money using my fuckin name so motherfuckin enbarassing,” he wrote on social media. “There will be severe repercussions to individual who did this very bad thing to me and anyone who knows me knows payback k will be goddamm severe!!!!!!”
