Michael Greeve has the Grand Prix Municipality of De Wolden in his own village for the second time. The rider was too fast in the jump -off twelve other riders.
The American Ansgar Holtgers Jr. was second, Jur Vrieling third. It was the second time that Greeve won his home game. In 2016 he was also the best in the jump -off. Greeve had saddled his eight -year -old Ruin Rubens for the Grand Prix. “For him it was his first big prize and that there is a victory is great,” De Veeninger beamed.
After the American Holtgers, Jur Vrieling and his horse Helwell du Chabus were third in the prize -giving ceremony. “Michael is the rightful winner,” Vrieling said. “He really gave a lesson of barrage rags. I still hoped that I would stay second, but that American just came in. It didn’t make much difference, a pity. But as far as the winner is concerned, it deserved it.”
Organizer and initiator Jan Broek was delighted with the victory of a rider from his own village. “A great winner for us. We saw very nice sport. And the public interest today was great. We had nothing to complain about this year, because the weather gods have been good for us every day. In addition, all participants and horses have remained healthy. We have had a nice jubilee year.”
