Metallica moves show due to corona infection singer Hetfield | show

American metal band Metallica had to reschedule a Sunday performance in Arizona. The reason is a corona infection with lead singer James Hetfield, the band announced. The performance at State Farm Stadium will be made up on September 9.

Metallica had already performed in Glendale on Friday and would play there again on Sunday. But due to the illness of the singer, that is not possible. According to Rolling Stone, the contamination also affected the earlier performance on Friday. Hetfield struggled with vocal problems and eventually two songs that were on the set list were not played anymore.

The Arizona performances are part of Metallica’s current world tour, M72. With that, the band was also in the Johan Cruijff Arena in April earlier this year. The band’s next performance after the Arizona show is scheduled for October. Then the group plays in California.
