Anyone who has struggled through the frustrating process of buying tickets for Metallica’s upcoming 24-episode “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas can count themselves lucky. The band is currently not planning any further shows for this concert block.
“We are so grateful and touched by your incredible response to our upcoming ‘Life Burns Faster’ residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas,” Metallica wrote on Instagram. “We are absolutely and completely overwhelmed and can’t believe we’re going to be on stage there for 24 amazing nights – all thanks to you and a record-breaking week.” He continued: “We will not be adding any more shows at this time, but hope to be able to offer more in the future.”
In the meantime, Metallica is working on making ticket purchasing more seamless for their fans in the future. “We hear you loud and clear that buying tickets was often frustrating and not always easy,” the band said. “We are working with our partners to improve this process and offer some workarounds next time.”
Frustration in the Ticketmaster queue
Online, fans reported long waiting times in the Ticketmaster queue, which ultimately ended in nothing – the tickets for the individual dates sold out so quickly. This made it all the more bitter for her, given the promise behind the tour. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting,” drummer Lars Ulrich said in a statement last month. “We’re beyond excited to share this with the world in six months, and bloody excited to take this to the next level!”
The “Life Burns Faster” block originally started with eight planned dates. The residency was soon expanded to 24 nights. The shows will run weekly in blocks of two from October 2026 to March 2027.
