Member of Parliament Pauli Kiuru (Kok) hopes that the incident that touched the people of Valkeakoski will also produce something good.
– Really sad. The season was really difficult, and now there will be even more grief from such a setback.
This is how MP Pauli Kiuru (kok) describes the Sunday fire at the Valkeakoski football stadium, or Tehtaa field.
The famous football club FC Hakan’s home field suffered extensive damage in a fierce fire that started on Sunday evening. The grandstand was almost completely destroyed, and the artificial grass platform was also damaged to the point of being unusable in places.
Kiuru is a sworn supporter of FC Haka. He has also made an impact in the club’s background.
On Sunday, he was not in Valkeakoski, but the information about the events in the city reached him quickly.
– I received information about the fire from various groups. I started calling, and I quickly got an unfortunate confirmation for the events, says Kiuru.

The fire was the latest addition to Haka’s difficult last months. At the end of the season, the multiple Finnish champion was relegated from the Veikkausliiga.
The partial destruction of the home stadium would not have been necessary in this situation.
– Of course, this creates a lot more work for the club. I don’t know about insurance, but you always have to pay something in these matters, Kiuru reflects.
Although the fire has deeply touched the people of Valkeakoski, Kiuru hopes that something good will come out of the incident.
– Hopefully this event would unite supporters. I hope for an increase in community spirit, although of course Valkeakoski already has that.
Kiuru swears faith in the people of Valkeakoski and the supporters of FC Haka. This is where we get up.
– It has risen before. There have been long raven hikes and difficult moments before. Long and fine traditions carry a lot. I believe that the essence and tradition of a small place still exists.
– And sometimes things turn out in such a way that adversity unites and strengthens, Kiuru says.

The police said on Monday that they suspect a crime in the case. The police are investigating the fire as possible vandalism.
– This information arouses such thoughts that also strengthen my own understanding of the events. However, let the authorities investigate the case before announcing the verdict, says Kiuru.
Iltalehti has also been informed of videos and messages which, if true, speak in unfortunate language about the cause of the fire.
Kiurukin says he is aware of the rumors related to the fire and flames.
– Artificial grass does not spontaneously catch fire in wet autumn. This is unlikely to have been started by any electrical fire, that’s my assessment as a layman, says Kiuru.
