Merz wants ‘strongest army Europe’: “Whoever thinks Russia is satisfied with Ukraine is mistaken”

In his first statement as Chancellor, Friedrich Merz broke a lance for the enormous reinforcement of the German army: “The Bundeswehr gets all means to become the strongest army in Europe conventionally. That is normally in a country with the most inhabitants and the largest economy.”
