The assignment for Menen for the game was simple, winning 3-0 or 3-1 against the end of Antwerp and then the top four was a certainty.

The West Flemish people also started their match well and quickly walked out a few points. Antwerp, the last in the Lotto Volley League, had nothing to lose anymore and you saw that on the field too. The people of Antwerp played without pressure and served very strongly, with which the visitors went up and over Menen to 17-19. The home team still fought back, but eventually had to leave the first set to Antwerp, 24-26.

In set two it continued to fight for each point, Menen was strong and at the end of the set it played better. 25-21 and 1-1 in sets. Set three brought tension again, until 18-18 it went right, but then the home team switched a level higher. Again 25-21 and one more set to go for Menen.

In that fourth set, Antwerp suddenly found a different level, the visitors played Menen completely and via 12-18 the set four eventually won 19-25. Due to victories of Aalst and Leuven, the Bene Conference had already started flying for a long time.

Menen still won the fifth set 15-12 for what it was worth.
