Knack Roeselare already won against Haasrode Leuven last night, meaning Menen had to take the three points from Waremme to stay in the leader’s wake. In set one, the West Flemish team still had to get used to the Sunday hour, the home team started strongly and ran out to 16-12. But just at the right moment Menen woke up, it went up and over Waremme to 24-26.
The tension disappeared completely afterwards, Menen raised his level a bit and steamed to a smooth 0-3 victory with 13-25 and 19-25. The border team remains two points behind leader Knack Roeselare. Next week Menen has to visit Maaseik.
