A 30-year-old man from Emmen and a 26-year-old man from Sappemeer were injured in a serious accident on the N34 near Odoorn last night.
The two men are the drivers of the two vehicles, police said. For unknown reasons, both cars left the road. How the accident happened is still being investigated by the police.
The victims were transported to hospital last night after assistance was provided on site. It is not known how they are doing. The two drivers were the only occupants of both cars.
The N34 was temporarily closed near Odoorn due to a police investigation. The road was also littered with debris.
