The Dropkick Murphys will be holding a memorial concert before their headlining concert in Minneapolis next month in honor of Alex Pretti and Renée Good.

The Boston band will perform at the Palace Theater in St. Paul on March 6, while the free acoustic concert begins at 1 p.m. that same afternoon. In addition to the Dropkick Murphys, the concert will feature local acts such as Wild Colonial Bhoys, DJ Jacques, Kiss the Tiger, Sophie Hiroko, Chutes, Laamar, Obi Original and the Shackletons.

“We are so proud of how Minnesota rose up in this moment. And we are so sad for the community and for the Pretti and Good families because of what they went through,” Dropkick Murphys frontman Ken Casey said in a statement. “[Deshalb] It’s an honor for us to come here and play music for people. And to let them know that we stand with them in solidarity.”

Livestream and fundraisers

The concert, which will be streamed live, is scheduled to take place in the parking lot of the Black Forest Inn at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue (also known as Eat Street). Not far from where ICE officers shot and killed Pretti earlier this year. The event will double as a benefit concert for several local groups and mutual aid initiatives. These include Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Show Up for Eat Street, Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota and the South Minneapolis Families Fund.

The Dropkick Murphys have long been vocal opponents of President Donald Trump and his administration. In January, after an ICE officer shot Good (but before Pretti was killed), the band announced that it had reworked its 2005 protest song “Citizen CIA” — a bogus recruiting song for the secret service — into “Citizen ICE.” The track was released in early February.
