Numerous instruments and other memorabilia from the Taylor Hawkins tribute shows will go under the hammer over the weekend. The memorial gigs for the late Foo Fighters drummer in London and Los Angeles in September featured a host of rock stars, including Paul McCartney, Brian Johnson, and Brian May and Roger Taylor.

The auction is part of the Icons & Idols: Rock ‘N’ Roll auction being held by auction house Julien’s from November 11th to 13th. It will take place simultaneously at New York’s Hard Rock Cafe and online. Among other things, there is also a guitar that Kurt Cobain smashed up on stage.

Available as part of the Taylor Hawkins Collection are guitars, cymbals and drum heads signed by a number of the performing musicians, including former Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic. For example, an EVH Van Halen Frankenstrat signed by Grohl, Novoselic and The Police drummer Stewart Copeland, among others, or a replica Brian May’s “Red Special” electric guitar signed by Brian Johnson and Kesha (but not Brian May).

Also on offer is a custom Ram Rebel pickup truck decorated with Taylor Hawkins nameplates inside and out. The proceeds from the auction of the tribute concert memorabilia will go to the organizations Music Support and MusiCares, which support musicians in personal, medical or financial crises. Taylor Hawkins died in March 2022 at the age of 50 while on tour with Foo Fighters in Colombia.
