The song of my life last Saturday’s episode of the program sparked discussion especially because of one guest.
During the potpourri performance seen at the end of the episode, singer Meiju Suvas filmed the show and host Katja Ståhl with her phone. This made some of the viewers gasp.
– Why do you have to film with your own phone, when you are on the live broadcast yourself as a guest? one user criticized in the anonymous messaging service Jodel.
– I don’t think it really fits the label, the same user continued.
Iltalehti reached the responsible producer of the program Samu Reijonen From Yle to comment on the criticism that has been pouring in about Suva’s behavior.
– We are mainly amused by the fact that when the program has so many viewers, people pay attention to different things, says Reijonen.
According to Reijonen, the production instructs guests to leave their phones away from the shooting location, so that they don’t interfere with the microphones, for example.
– But if Meiju wants to make something out of potpuri, she can do it, Reijonen laughs.
– It did not cause a disturbance during the actual broadcast, Reijonen continues.
Reijonen says that the director was so amused by Suvaksen’s portrayal that he picked him up for close-ups.
– I don’t remember anyone taking pictures during the broadcast before. It aroused so much amusement in the cockpit that the director also reacted to it.
The song of Suva’s life turned out to be a song by the band Earth, Wind and Fire Fantasy. Other guests on Saturday’s broadcast were writer Raija Oranen, journalist Seija Vaaherkumpu, opera singer Jaakko Ryhänen and actor Heikki Kinnunen.
